Yvonne Dorothea Embretson, age 92, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Praha Village in New Prague. Visitation will be on Friday, August 18 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. with funeral service following at 11 a.m. all at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery with Pastor Jason Pollington officiating. Interment will be held in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

Linda Ann Warnemunde, age 73, of New Prague, died peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Prague, Minnesota.

Catherine Ann Sery, age 80, of Lakeville formerly of Hastings, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at United Hospital in St. Paul. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 26, from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Nancy Ann Hix, age 89 of Montgomery passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 peacefully and quietly at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with visitation one hour prior.  Private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Le Sueur at a later date.

Gerald Francis Kovarik, age 79, of Lonsdale, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
He is survived by his five children: Julie Kovarik (fiancé Dennis Tikalsky) of Hackensack, Ann Kovarik of Montgomery, Crystal (Richard) Shetka of Faribault, Sarria (Mitch) Green of Hopkins and Christopher Kovarik of St. Paul; five grandchildren: Nikitta (Cole) Mason, Cody Shetka, Brandon Klonne, Oscar and Roy Green, one great-grandson, Waylon Mason; brother Richard (Connie) Kovarik.

Rudolph J. Skluzacek, age 92 of Lonsdale, Minnesota, went home to the Lord on July 1, 2023.
He was born May 29, 1931 to Frank J. and Hedwig (Pekar) Skluzacek on the home farm in Wheatland Township.
Rudy farmed on the family century farm his entire life.  He also was employed at McQuay, in Faribault, and McNamara Construction. 
He served his country in Alaska during the Korean War.  He was a proud, active, lifetime member of the American Legion Post 586 for 71 years. 

James “Tony” Anthony Stage, age 60 of Montgomery passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 10-month battle with cancer.

Dave (“Pobbies”) Charlson, 84, of Plymouth, Minnesota passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on June 12, 2023 after a brief illness and diagnosis of cancer.
Dave (known fondly by his children as “Pobbies” and his grandchildren as “Grandpobbies”) was born July 16, 1938 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to the Reverend Dalton Vincent Charlson and Pearl Evelyn Charlson. Dave graduated from Bradley University with a B.S. in Engineering and following his graduation he worked in Design, Development, and Manufacturing.

Marvin Lawrence Edel, age 87, of Kilkenny, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22 from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with rosary at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 23 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior also at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in the Trebon Cemetery.

Eugene Thomas Turek, age 89, of Faribault, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Milestone Nursing Home in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with a prayer service to follow. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Disabled American Veterans or donor’s choice.

Dallas Jerome Horejsi was born on March 25, 1948 to Charles and Leona (Honza) Horejsi in New Prague, MN.
On March 20, 1971 he married Marsha Petersen. Dallas was a Vietnam Veteran. Proud member of the Montgomery Honor Guard, Montgomery VFW, Montgomery Legion and Minnesota River Valley Masons.
He worked at Minnesota Valley Engineering (Chart) for 40 years. He loved fishing, especially his yearly Canada trips with his buddies.

Rodney “Rod” Kaderlik, age 67, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Mayo System New Prague. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 25 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Revival on Main in Montgomery.

Dorothy (Jindra) Pauly, of Jordan, passed away Friday, June 2 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague.  A Time of Gathering will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 104 1st St W, Jordan, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM with visitation time one hour prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 2nd St. E, Jordan, MN, with Fr. Neil Bakker presiding. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Jordan.

Joan (Joni) Glynn, 83, passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2023, after a long fight against Parkinson’s Disease. 
Joan was born on October 20, 1939 to Isidor and Estella (Klinkhammer) Mahowald. Joan grew up in Shakopee and attended Shakopee schools. In addition to school, she helped care for her younger siblings,  tended the large vegetable garden for the family vegetable stand, babysat, and helped her mother clean several businesses so that she could spend more time with her. 

Stephen "Steve" Andrew Schultz, 38, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023 at 10:10 a.m. surrounded by family and friends. Stephen gave the gift of life through organ donation. As he had in life he gave what he could to help others without asking for anything in return. Steve was a quiet man, who loved his family and friends with a quiet fierceness that many did not see. He gave pieces of himself to everyone he met with a winning smile, wit and sarcasm.

David Scott Reed, age 63, died November 10, 2022, in Comfort Care at U of M Fairview Medical Center. Family and friends would like to invite you to celebrate the life of David at The Church event center in Le Center, 185 N Lexington Ave., from 1- 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 13. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. and a light lunch and social will be from 2-5 p.m.
