Donald William Wolff, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Mankato, MN. He was born on March 17, 1939, in Mankato; grew up in Madison Lake; and attended Loyola Catholic School in Mankato. After graduation, he trained with the Minnesota National Guard. He married Harriet on April 28, 1962, and lived in Elysian where he farmed. He was employed by Brown Printing in Waseca. After retiring, he volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Donald was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and was strong in faith.
Margaret J. Matz, age 93, passed away in the early morning of Jan. 6, at Thorncrest Nursing Home in Albert Lea, MN.
Margaret was born March 19, 1930, to Harold Faltersack and Delores Whipps in Elysian. She married Merlyn Matz in 1950 and together they had a son, David. Throughout her life she worked at Larson’s Cafe, Johnson’s, Munsingware, and Waterville Good Samaritan. She also was a long member of the Episcopal St. Andrew’s Church in Waterville. She lived by Lake Tetonka most of her life. She loved her cats and dogs.
Mary Ann Bauman, age 84, of Morristown, died on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
Memorial services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morristown, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Weslie Odom officiating. Memorial visitation will be at church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault at a later date. Arrangements are being completed by Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
Arlene Mae Wehr, age 87, of Waterville, died Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the New Richland Care Center in New Richland.
She was born on May 28, 1937, in Faribault. She was the daughter of George and Elsie (Schuler) Drinken. On April 9, 1955, she was united in marriage to Merle Edwin Wehr. She loved traveling, and spending winters with Merle in Arizona before his passing. She enjoyed yard sales, thrift shopping, supporting local food shelves, and a good time at a casino. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
Patsy Dorrene Culhane, age 74, of Waterville, passed away on the night of Tuesday, December 11, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems - St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester.
Hunter Tim Alan Schwartz, age 28, died unexpectedly as the result of a tragic accident on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Windom Area Health in Windom, Minnesota.

A Celebration of Life service will be held the following day, Monday, December 2, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior at the American Legion in Le Center. Deacon Dan Wesley will be officiating, and interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in rural Waterville following the service.

Darus Lyn Toot, 68, of Janesville, MN, died Saturday, November 9, 2024, at home.
He was born on December 4, 1956, and was the third child of Wayne and Marcella (Huffman) Toot. He attended Waterville-Elysian Public Schools and graduated in 1975.
Darus worked in construction and traveled to various locations in the U.S. Yearly trips to Sturgis were some of his favorite adventures as well as hunting and camping. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and family and we appreciated his quick wit and sarcastic manner!

Dennis Leroy Schwichtenberg, age 83, died October 28, 2024, at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
Dennis was born March 17, 1941, in Waterville, Minnesota and baptized at Trinity Lutheran in Waterville. He lived on the family farm northeast of Waterville with his parents, Paul and Ruth Lamont Schwichtenberg. He started school in a one room country schoolhouse near Horseshoe Lake. Later he attended school in Waterville before moving to St. Clair and graduating from St. Clair High School in 1958.

Betty Lou Hammargren died peacefully at Carondelet Village in St. Paul on October 20, 2024. She was born in Kilkenny, Minnesota, on December 17, 1926. She attended St. Canice Catholic Grade School, Montgomery High School and was a graduate of St. Catherine's University.
