Delores M. Dvorak, 94

Delores M. Dvorak, age 94, died peacefully with her family at her side at her home at Praha Village on Thursday, April 27, 2023. Delores was born on December 24, 1928 in New Prague to Helmer and Anna (Krueger) Krohn.  She attended New Prague Public Schools and met her husband, Rudy Dvorak, in New Prague.  The couple married in the same church where Delores was baptized and confirmed, Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church on October 20, 1948.

Thomas M. Steiner, 69

Thomas M. Steiner, 69, born August 23, 1953, of Lonsdale passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 after a courageous 20 month battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.
After graduating from Jordan High School in 1971, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1975. In 1980, he met the love of his life Donna Oldenburg, and married in 1985, going on to have 2 children, Stacy and Brandon.

Wallace Julius “Wally” Kubes, 82

Wallace Julius “Wally” Kubes, 82, of New Prague, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, after an illness, at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park.  Wally was born on the family farm on October 1, 1940, the eighth of ten children, to Wenceslaus J. and Anna M. (Simon) Kubes.  He attended country district school on the corner just up the road and graduated from New Prague High School in 1959.

Rodney “Rod” Kaderlik, 67

Rodney “Rod” Kaderlik, age 67, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health System, New Prague. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Rod was born on October 17, 1955 in New Prague to Alvin and Gladys (Sticha) Kaderlik. He was a graduate of Montgomery High School and Faribault Vo-tech for welding.
Rod was united in marriage to Deb Huss. They were married for 43 1/2 years.

Bruce A. Barta, 71

Bruce A. Barta, 71, passed away peacefully in San Antonio, TX on Friday, April 14, 2023 after a short battle with leukemia. Bruce was born on December 1, 1951 in Northfield, MN to Elmer and Ruth (O’Leary) Barta. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and New Prague High School. He graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in Music and Business.

Mary Young, 81

After 25 years apart from her husband Bill, and 59 years from her infant son James, Mary Margaret (Guttenberg) Young, has reunited with them in heaven.
Surrounded by her loving family, Mary, 81, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato on Sunday, April 16 after a sudden illness.
Mary was born on April 21, 1941, in Fargo, ND, to Casper and Eleanor (Landsberger) Guttenberg. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School, and graduated from St. Mary’s Central High School in Bismarck.

JoAnn M. Doyle, 88

JoAnn M. Doyle, age 88, of New Prague, died peacefully at her home with family at her side on Friday, April 14, 2023.  JoAnn was born on September 4, 1934 in New Prague to James E. and Rose A. (Pikal) Simon.  She grew up in the New Prague area, attending country school and St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduating from New Prague High School.  She attained her LPN degree from Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.  JoAnn married James R. Doyle at St.

Joseph Ambrose Tupy, 92

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Ambrose Tupy, the devoted Tupy family patriarch and friend to all whose lives he touched.
He passed away on April 12, 2023 at the Owatonna Hospital after suffering a brief illness. He was 92.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.   Friends may greet the family starting at 9:30 AM at the church.  A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 9:15 AM at the church.  

Robert Ambrose Becker, 58

Robert Ambrose Becker, age 58, of Burnsville, MN died unexpectedly April 10th, 2023.  Robert or Rob, as most knew him by, was born on December 7th, 1964, in New Prague, MN.  He was the son of Jeanette (Witt) and Ambrose Becker and the son-in-law of Betty and Leonard Cavanaugh.  Since 1992, Robert worked at Eden Prairie High School as a school security monitor, where he connected with countless staff and students, building lifelong friendships throughout his time.
