Martha A. Paur, age 78, of Kilkenny, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020. Visitation will be held 2 hours before Mass at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery from 8:30-10:30 am. Mass will follow at 10:30 with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. There will be a luncheon at noon at the American Legion in Montgomery after the burial.
Paul Bisek of New Prague, MN died Aug. 24, 2020 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial is set for September 1, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. A private family visitation will start at 10:00 am on Tuesday at the church. The public will be invited into the church starting at 10:30 am prior to start of the mass at 11:00 am. For health and safety, all are encouraged to wear masks.
Emily Christine (Kriha) Moore Vlasak, age 93, formally of Montgomery, passed away peacefully at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living in New Prague, MN, on Sunday, August 23, 2020.
Emily was born on April 3, 1927, to Thomas and Emma (Rynda) Kriha on the family farm near Heidelberg, Minnesota. The youngest of three daughters, Emily graduated from Montgomery High School. After high school she worked as a secretary at the Montgomery Mill until her marriage on September 7, 1949, to John (Jack) Moore at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery.
Rita Ann Way, 84, of Montgomery, died on August 9, 2020, in New Prague.
Funeral services and visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, at Most Holy Redeemer Church. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with a Mass to follow. Officiating will be Father Thomas Neihaus.
Rita was born in Montgomery to Thomas and Anna (Flicek) Moravec on October 11, 1935. She graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale Schools in 1953.
Bergland, Dawn Marie – Age 59, passed away on August 14, 2020.
Survived by her great nephew Sean Dakota, who was the light of Dawn’s life and who shared many special moments with her in the garden, cooking, decorating for holidays and scrapbooking.
Also survived by Brother Doug Blaisdell (Cheryl), Sisters Deb Dakota and Deanna Cole (Jim), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Proceeded in death by husband Richard Bergland, Son Nickolas Bergland and Parents.

Myrtle Marie “Myrt” Hanzel, age 91, of New Prague, died peacefully in the presence of her family on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center. Myrt was born on August 8, 1928 in Derrynane Township, St. Thomas, MN to Thomas and Theresa (Reger) Retka. She attended Country School District 107 one-room schoolhouse and graduated from New Prague High School. After graduating, she traveled to St. Paul for the first time and lived with her aunt, Rose Retka, who helped her find employment and paid her tuition to Ancker Hospital in St.
Marvin Stanley Peterson, age 103, of Montgomery, formerly of Bloomington, died peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Traditions in Montgomery. Marvin was born on June 18, 1917 in Grove City, Minnesota to Hans and Helen (Nelson) Peterson. He married the love of his life, Ardys Leone Ekbom on May 16, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN. WWII brought him to service in the US Navy and he was stationed stateside in San Diego. He worked his entire career as a mechanic for NW Airlines, retiring after 43 years with the company. Francis J. “Fritz” Tupy, age 77, of New Prague, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Mala Strana Care and Rehabilitation Center. Fritz was born on December 3, 1942 at the family home in Webster Township, Rice County to Frank W. and Mary C. (Schoenbauer) Tupy. John Arnold Schleis, 76, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020. Private family services will be held.

John was born on August 15, 1943, in New Prague to Arnold and Emily (David) Schleis. John attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and Montgomery High School. John was united in marriage to Mary Jo Pitmon on October 26, 1963, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.
Morken, Odin “Red”, passed away on July 22, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague, MN at the age of 83. Red was born March 7th 1937 in Ulen, MN. His parents Odd and Katherine Morken raised their family on the farm in Ulen before moving to Frazee, MN in the early 1950’s. He attended Frazee High School and graduated in 1955. While in high school Red joined the Army Reserves and served 8 years in addition to serving in the Army where he trained to be an electrician from 1956-1958.

Sally was born January 1, 1941, the daughter of Arnold and Sylvia Kline. She passed away May 28, 2020.

Orv was born on September 26, 1931, in Faribault to Ernest and Bertha (Behm) Sawatzky. He attended Montgomery Public School. Orv served in the United States Army from 1950-1952 in Korean War.
