Richard “Dick” Francis Gregor, 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Central Health Care in Le Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 29, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery at noon with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.
Richard was born on April 30, 1939, in Faribault to Mary (Kotek) and Ambrose Gregor. He was united in marriage to Marge Grundhoffer on December 26, 1964, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Bryan Charles Tupy, age 31, of Jordan, died suddenly at his home on Monday, July 26, 2021. Bryan was born on January 25, 1990 to Chuck and Shelly (Walerius) Tupy. He attended St. Wenceslaus School, graduated from New Prague High School, attained a B.S. in Fish and Wildlife Biology from the University of North Dakota, and then got his associate degree in Law Enforcement from Alexandria Technical and Community College. He married the love of his life, Annalee Koonst at St.
Joe “Joseph” R. Pelant, 75, of Le Center, passed away at St. Francis Medical Center in Shakopee on Friday, July 16, 2021. Celebration of Life will be held August 1 at Lakefront Bar and Grill in Le Center from 1 to 4 p.m.
Joe was born on March 19, 1946, in New Prague to Elsie (Kukacka) and Joseph F. Pelant. He graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School and Willmar Jr. College in Wilmar, MN.
Mary Margaret Walker, age 80, of New Prague, died unexpectedly with her husband at her side of complications from pancreatitis at Fairview Southdale Hospital on December 29, 2020. Mary was born on November 13, 1940 in Minneapolis to Andrew and Lylis (Blanchard) Jones.
Rodney Joseph Soukup, 82, passed away at home on June 23, after a 10-month-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Faribault, Minnesota, on March 9, 1939, Rod grew up in Montgomery, Minnesota, and received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Ralph G. Hendrickson, age 82 of Kilkenny, MN, died at his home on Thursday morning, July 1, 2021. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 17 from 9am to 11am at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Memorial services will be at 11am all at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Interment will be held at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. John Church Steeple repair or Le Sueur County Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).
Irene N. Jakes, 85, of Faribault, MN, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Irene Nelette was born on November 12, 1935, in Smiths Mill, MN to Basiel and Ethel (Merritt) Spoor. She attended Montgomery High School. She was married to Marvin Jakes; they had five children, and were later divorced. They had farmed for about 30 years in Erin Township, Rice County.
Billy D. Brown, of Montgomery, passed away on May 29, 2021, at the age of 86.
Bill was born in Newby, Oklahoma and lived there with his mother, a schoolteacher, and his younger brother, Clayton, until he completed the 8th grade. The family then moved to Burr Oak, Kansas where he graduated from High School in 1952.
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Sticha, age 94, died Sunday May 30, 2021 at NC Little Hospice in Edina.
Betty was a bouncing baby girl, born to Ladimir and Anna (Donnelly) Benes on February 17, 1927, St. Patrick, Cedar Lake Township.
Marcella Margaret Thorsen, 99 years young, entered her heavenly home on May 22, 2021. She lived her life on her terms including staying in her home for her entire adult life.
Curtis Erwin Kuethe, 81, of Montgomery died May 5, 2021, at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8 from 1 to 2:45 p.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center with Pastor Ally Bowman officiating. Interment will be held in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.
Nancy Creger, 86, passed away peacefully with her family at her home in rural Kilkenny, Minnesota on April 29, 2021. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Clayton “Cookie” George Kukacka, age 84, of Owatonna, formerly of New Prague, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, in Medford at his daughter Deb’s home.
Visitation will take place Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 9 to 11 a.m. with a Memorial Service following at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery Area Honor Guard.
Mayme Lucille (Dejcmar) Jindra, age 105 years 10 months and 6 days, passed away peacefully at her home in Montgomery on October 19, 2020. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. The Funeral Service in celebration of her life will also be held at the Church starting at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jason Pollington officiating.
Carol Jean (Erkel) Svoboda, 85, of Le Center, passed away on April 16, 2021, at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague with family by her side.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery with Pastor Jason Pollington, officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church.
Interment will be held in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Joseph Kline, 97, of St. James, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society – Pleasant View in St. James.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at St. James Catholic Church in St. James with Father Timothy Hall as celebrant.
Burial with military honors will follow at Trebon Cemetery in Montgomery, MN.
Joseph was born October 30, 1923, in Erin Township, Rice County near Faribault, MN, the son of Frank and Katherine (Uhlir) Kline.
