Sidney Vikla, 90, of Lonsdale, died at the Northfield Hospital, on November 9, 2021.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 1:30 to 4:30 pm at the Montgomery American Legion in Montgomery. Sidney is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Vikla of Lonsdale; daughter, Melodi (Larry) Van Roekel of Nerstrand.

Lloyd Thomas Viskocil, age 79, of Montgomery passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at his home. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14 from 4 pm-8 pm at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 15 at 11 am with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating, with visitation one hour prior at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.
Interment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery Area Veterans Honor Guard.

Hedi Ilse Pelowski, age 69, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at her home.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 10:00 am-11:00 am at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lexington.
Hedi was born on February 7, 1953, to Milo and Hedi (Gartner) Chlan in Germany. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1971.

Phyllis Marie Pelowski, age 90, of Lexington passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12 from 4:00 -7:00 pm at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, July 13 at 10:30 am at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father Tom Niehaus & Father Mike Krenik officiating.
Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Lexington.

Michael Francis Smisek, 56, of Lonsdale, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, at his home.
Funeral services were held on May 27, 2022, for Mike at Montgomery American Legion and interment in Calvary Cemetery.
Michael Francis Smisek was born August 20, 1965, at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague to Adeline and Marvin Smisek. He attended Montgomery Lonsdale School. He was active in Montgomery FFA, hockey, and working at Montgomery Auto.

Rita Ann (Trnka) Chlan, age 89, of Webster, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 19, 2022. She was born on April 23, 1933 in Erin Township to Mathias and Helen (Brabec) Trnka of Lonsdale.

Angela Kadrlik, age 42 of Montgomery passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, June 13, 2022.

John Joseph “Jack” Skluzacek, age 76, passed away on June 5, 2022 at his farm home near Lonsdale, MN.
John was born to John T. and Celia (Malecha) Skluzacek on January 21,1946 at the Northfield Hospital. John was the youngest of eight children and was loved by his siblings, Jeanette, Norbert, Loretta, Bernadine, Adrian, Valeria, and Sr. Marilyn OP.

Joseph G. Velishek, 81, of Faribault, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Owatonna Hospital following a brief illness.
Joseph George was born on March 27, 1941, in Kilkenny, MN, to Joseph and Theresa (Hauer) Velishek. He attended school in Montgomery.
Joe was married to Theresa LaCanne on September 29, 1962. They farmed on the Velishek farm for 20 years, owned T.J.’s Furniture in Le Center for 13 years, and the Bargain Barn in Montgomery. Joe also worked at LaCanne’s Marine for 10 years.

Robert Carlson, 82, Duluth, Minn., died Tuesday, May 17, in his home surrounded by his family..
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday May 31, 2022 at 3 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Cremation Society of Minnesota Duluth Chapel 4100 Grand Avenue.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Noah Stephens- Brown on May 6, 2022. This was unexpected and our family is devastated by the loss of our beloved son and brother. After overcoming brain cancer 4½ years ago, Noah died from bacterial meningitis brought on by complications from that brain surgery.

Thomas J. Shriver, age 87, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. 
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from noon until 3 p.m. at Richter’s Woods Barn outside of Montgomery.

Bruce Patrick Reynolds, age 82, of Montgomery, formerly of New Prague, died Friday, May 6, 2022, at Traditions of Montgomery.
Bruce was born on June 5, 1939, and adopted as an infant by Elmer P. and Dorothy Reynolds. He attended and graduated from schools in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He served in the United States Army during the early 1960s.
He worked for many years as a bartender in his parents’ bar in New Prague, and later as a maintenance man and overnight staff at Sunrise Farm in Montgomery.

Douglas Alan Traxler, 52, of Le Center, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home. 
  A visitation with family present was held Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Le Center Funeral Home. A celebration of life was held Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Donations will be directed for the purposes of scholarships with Tri-City United Dollars for Scholars and to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Endowment Fund. 

Francis E. Schoenecker, age 73, of New Prague, formerly of Montgomery, died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Mala Strana Assisted Living.  Francis was born on July 9, 1948 in New Prague to Erwin H. and Mary E. (Ademmer) Schoenecker.  He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from Montgomery High School.  He worked for Minnesota Valley Breeders for many years and finished out his career as a machinist for Scott Equipment. 

John G. Wohlers, Sr., 73, lifelong resident of Le Center, passed away on April 16, 2022, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, surrounded by his loving wife and children. 
John was born on July 2, 1948, at St. Peter Hospital to George H. and Merle E. (Hinz) Wohlers. He grew up in Le Center and lived his entire life in the community. He enjoyed growing up on the farm, working the land, helping and learning from his dad, working with the animals and just being a country boy.
