Two wins in the Gopher Conference moved the WEM volleyball team into third place in the Gopher Conference.
The Bucs dropped a fiveset thriller to Faribault BA Tuesday, Oct. 10 but rebounded with a four-set win over Blooming Prairie Friday, Oct. 13 and a 25-11, 25-21, 25-14 win over Triton Monday, Oct. 16.
The wins improved WEM’s conference record to 7-3 and 20-8 overall, the 12th time in school history the team has won 20 or more matches.
In the loss to Faribault BA, Claire Bohlen had 16 kills, Alayna Atherton 15 kills, Addison Condon 12 kills, and Ashlyn Pelant eight kills.
Bohlen also finished with 26 digs, four ace serves, and three blocks.
Liza Baker had 21 set assists and Pelant added 17.
Atherton led the team with six blocks and Tatum Richards finished with three solo blocks.
Josephine Volkmann had 32 digs, L. Baker 28, Condon 26, and Grace Baker 15.
In the win over the Blossoms, WEM finished with 11 ace serves, three each from G. Baker, Bohlen, and Myranda Krystosek.
