Devin Michael Efta, 26

Devin Michael Efta, age 26, of Le Center, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.  Devin was born on June 11, 1997, in Shakopee, to Lee and Trisha (Slavik) Efta.  He grew up in New Prague, graduating from New Prague High School.  He was currently employed as a landscaper, which allowed him to be in the world he loved the best, the outdoors.  He loved nature and his interests reflected that and he loved nothing more than camping, biking, and fishing.  He was free-spirited and hard-working.  His goofy personality found him always looking for a prank to play or a joke to tell.  He loved playing pool and bags and the occasional game of Fortnite with his fiancé, Allie!  He loved food, especially Grandma Jet’s banana bread.  His family was the most important aspect of his life; he loved nothing more than hanging out with his brothers and was an unapologetic “Mama’s Boy”.  He would do anything for his family and friends. His compassion was most evident in the close relationship he had with his grandfather, who is struggling with dementia, and the gentle care he selflessly gave him.  He also had a stubborn side but his fun-loving, goofy nature always came through and his family and friends will deeply miss his smile, his kindness, and most of all, his great hugs!

Devin is survived by his fiancé, Allie Busse of Le Center and his baby daughter, Maizie, due in August; parents, Trisha & Lee Efta of Le Center; brothers, Dylan Efta of Le Center, Daryk Efta of Le Center, Drake Efta and his daughter Oaklynn, of Le Center; grandparents, Kevin & Jeanette Slavik of New Prague; grandfather, Tom Efta of Ely; great-grandparents, Jeraline Pulkrabek of New Prague and Dorothy Efta of New Prague; many aunts, uncles, & cousins.  He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Tara Pulkrabek; aunt, Tonya Rae Miller.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Bruzek Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Steve Trewartha officiating.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. beforehand.  Guests are asked to wear blue jeans and a hoodie, in honor of Devin!

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Devin’s baby daughter, Maizie.  A fund will be set up for her.
