Lonsdale City Council gave approval to seek bids to construct a flat cement pad to install the skate park equipment purchased from the City of Shakopee for $905.98 last summer. The skate park will reside just east of the pavilion in Sticha Park and is expected to open up by mid-summer.
The public works department has been working to make repairs to the equipment purchased from Shakopee so it will be ready to install once a pad is constructed. The proposed pad is 100 feet by 130 feet and is meant to be versatile for other uses should the skate park be removed in later years. Bids will be sought this month for the proposed size and also minimum needed pad size of 90 feet by 130 feet.
