Titans win Belle Plaine Invitational
The Tri-City United girls track and field team won five individual events on their way to a team championship at the Belle Plaine Tiger Invitational Friday, April 4.
The Titans scored 117 points in placing first among the five teams entered. Belle Plaine placed second (90), Jordan third (84), Delano fourth (55), and Mayer Lutheran fifth (22).
Winning individual events included sophomore Kaitlyn Hartwig, senior Khloe Flicek, freshman Carly Hartwig, and freshman Jillian Houn.
K. Hartwig won the 100-meter dash (12.76) and the 200-meter dash (26.53). Flicek won the 100-meter hurdles (17.03). C. Hartwig won the 400-meter dash (1:01.94). Houn won the triple jump (32-feet, 10-inches).
Second place finishes were turned in by Houn in the 200-meter dash (27.94), senior Yasmin Ruiz-Ruiz in the 3,200-meter run (12:25.83) and the 400-meter dash (1:03.48), Flicek in the triple jump (32-feet, 6-inches) and the 4 x 100-meter relay team (54.01), the 4 x 400-meter relay (4:49.14), and the 4 x 800-meter relay (10:40.63).
Placing third were C. Hartwig in the 100-meter dash (13.28), Flicek in the 300-meter hurdles (52.63), junior Kaylee Gogerty in the 800-meter run (2:48.42), Flicek in the long jump (15-feet 5 1/2-inches), and senior Alexis Marcussen in the triple jump (31-feet, 3-inches).
