TCU nine drop three games

The Tri-City United (TCU) baseball team lost three games last week, two to Minnesota River conference opponents.

Le Sueur-Henderson (LSH) scored nine runs in the fifth inning in downing the Titans, 12-0 Monday, April 15.

LSH picked up one run in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 led before their big inning .

Kellen Jirik took the loss for the Titans. The southpaw went three innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on one hit, striking out three, and walking six.

Nate Blaschko and Noah Rynda each pitched for TCU also.

Parker O'Malley and Gavin Sherman each collected one hit for TCU. TCU turned one double play.

Belle Plaine (BP), despite being outhit 9-8, edged the Titans, 6-4.

Dylan Westerman led TCU with three hits.

The Titans fought back after falling down by five runs in the 7th inning. The comeback fell just short though. TCU closed the game due to two BP errors and a single.

BP opened the scoring in the top of  the 2nd inning thanks to two singles. They added to the lead in the 5th on a solo home run.

Hunter Moravec pitched four innings for the Titans in relief. Moravec gave up three hits and two runs while striking out three, and walking none. Max Krautkremer took the loss for the Titans. Krautkremer went three innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out four, and walking three.

Keegan O'Meara, Hunter Moravec, Dylan Fink, and Dylan Westerman each drove in a run for TCU. Krautkremer picked up two hits on the day, one being a double.

The Titans could not keep pace with the Waseca Bluejays Tuesday, April 9, losing 5-1.

A single by Keegan O'Meara scored Nate Blaschko in the first inning giving TCU a 1-0 lead.

The game stayed that way until the top of the 6th inning when Waseca scored three runs on two TCU errors and a wild pitch.

Mason Novotny took the loss for the Titans. He pitched six innings giving up no earned runs while allowing one hit and one walk. Novotny struck out four Waseca hitters.

Keegan O'Meara led the Titans at the plate with two hits and an RBI. Nate Blaschko had two stolen bases.

The Titans are scheduled to play at Mayer Lutheran Thursday, April 18, Friday, April 19 at Northfield, and Monday, April 22 hosting Lester Prairie.
