Darus Lyn Toot, 68

Darus Lyn Toot, 68, of Janesville, MN, died Saturday, November 9, 2024, at home.

He was born on December 4, 1956, and was the third child of Wayne and Marcella (Huffman) Toot.  He attended Waterville-Elysian Public Schools and graduated in 1975.

Darus worked in construction and traveled to various locations in the U.S. Yearly trips to Sturgis were some of his favorite adventures as well as hunting and camping. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and family and we appreciated his quick wit and sarcastic manner! 

His interests were watching sports, especially football, hobby cars and trucks, old westerns and movies of all types. He was a member of the Laborers Union.

He is survived by his three children: Alana (Jason); Carrie (Tom); and Christy. Grandchildren: Ezra, Jude, Matthew, Durzo, Aiden, Ella, Sullivan, Jameson, Wesley, EvaRayne and Atom. Siblings: Raymond (Nancy-deceased) Toot of Hartland, MN, Renee (Toot) Portrey of Idaho Falls, ID, and Bari (Gayla) Toot of Highland Ranch, CO.

A private family visitation was on Monday, November 18, 2024, in Janesville. Interment was held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian. The family had a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the Main Street Venue Event Center in Elysian.
