Delbert M. Velzke, age 85, of Owatonna, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 surrounded by his family at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morristown on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Travis J. Loeslie officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Morristown with military rites provided by the American Legion Post #149, Morristown. Visitation will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morristown on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Delbert Julias Martin was born in Iosco Township to Erich and Gertrude (Glende) Velzke on May 8, 1932. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, North Morristown. From 1953 to 1955, Delbert served in the United State Army as a radio operator. He married the love of his life, Delna Vollbrecht of Morristown, on March 10, 1956. Together they farmed south of Morristown for many years. He loved his family so much and he loved watching his kids, grandkids, great grandkids play and experience country living. He is survived by his wife, Delna of Owatonna; six children, Duane (and Mary) Velzke of Rochester, Anita (and Gordon) Nelson of Waseca, Audrey Pederson of Owatonna, Eileen Johnson of Owatonna, Keith (and Nancy) Velzke of Morristown, and Clark (and Patty) Velzke of Medford; 17 grandchildren, Leah (and Justin) Foss, Lindsay (and Levi) Vivier, Lauren Velzke, Luke Velzke, Daniel Nelson, Julie Nelson, Jill (and Mike) Pitts, Jolene (and Alex) Clark, Chad (and Andrea) Pederson, April (and Jeff) Glynn, Ashley (and Clint) Semmann, Aaron Robinson, Wyatt Robinson, Bruce (and Kristin) Velzke, Tyler (and Andrea) Velzke, Natalie Velzke, and Spencer Velzke; 22 great grandchildren; and four siblings, Mildred Melchert of Faribault, Geraldine Kelm of Waterville, David (and Diane) Velzke of Waterville and Marvin (and LaDonna) Velzke of Morristown. He was preceded in death by his parents, great grandson, Brady Velzke; and two brothers in law, Curtis Kelm and Marvin Melchert. Visit boldtfuneralhome.com for information and guest book.
