Volunteers make race a success

The 33rd annual Run New Prague Half Marathon was held this past weekend, and as always, things ran smoothly thanks in large part to the many volunteers who help to run this race. The New Prague Chamber of Commerce coordinates all the volunteers for this race. More than 30 individuals were involved in staging this year’s event, and that’s not including the dozens more who manned water/aid stations along the route.

The event brings hundreds of people to New Prague, and these visitors experience the hospitality that makes New Prague such a great place to visit. It’s events such as these that make New Prague a special place to live. Hats off to the Chamber, to the businesses that helped sponsor the event, and to the many volunteers that have helped make this event a success not only this year, but going back over the past 33 years.

The dedication and community spirit shown by these volunteers shine brightly for the community. And thank you to the hundreds of runners - both local residents and visitors - who participated in the Half-Marathon, 10K and 5K races, as well as the Kids Fun Run. The community looks forward to seeing you again next year.
