Trojan boys top Mayer Lutheran

The New Prague Trojan boys soccer team won one of three games last week. That included a pair of close losses to Mound Westonka and Rochester Mayo and a rainsoaked win over Mayer Lutheran.

New Prague (3-4, 0-1 WCC) was scheduled to host Jordan on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in a makeup game. They will play at Waconia on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m. and at St. Louis Park on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. The Trojans are at Rockford on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 5 p.m.

Trojans 1, Crusaders 0 In a game played in moderate to heavy rain, the Trojans scored the only goal, with Riley Weckman getting the game-winner in the first half.

"We were able to connect passes and movement off the ball was better," Coach Gospel Kordah said. "Kade Eggum played very well in goal, stopping his fourth penalty shot of the season. I was very proud of my boys for grinding it out and getting the win."
