Trojan boys run strong 3rd at WCC meet

The New Prague Trojan boys cross country team finished third of six teams at the Wright County Conference East championships Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Gale Woods Farm Park in Minnetrista.

"The WCC Championships is one of the meets for which we prepare all year," Coach Nick Meyer said. "At the beginning of the season our team set goals for this meet, and both the varsity and JV achieved those goals. We are very proud of how our kids competed."

Adam Brandt, Noah Weichert, and Jacob Malecha worked together very well in the early stages of the race, Meyer said, which set them up for success.

"All three ran tough in the middle and showed a lot of determination in the final part of the race. At the line, New Prague earned two All- Conference honors - Malecha placed fourth and Weichert ninth. Brandt was close behind in 12th and Carson Davis finished in 17th with a very strong second half and a big kick. Both earned Honorable Mention status.
