After missing two meets due to the weather, the New Prague High School boys track team had a chance to stretch their legs and compete on Thursday, April 12, and were greeted with sunshine and blue skies at the start of the 4 p.m. meet.

While the weather turned gray and cold as the meet went on, the Trojans stayed hot, winning the seven-team meet. New Prague had 91.5 points, well ahead of second place Providence Academy. The rest of the field included Simley, Orono, Minneapolis South, St. Croix Prep and Prairie Seeds Academy.

"The boys came ready to compete, and with strong leadership from the seniors and captains, New Prague had a very successful day," Coach Nick Meyer said.

"We saw positive energy and a team mindset from our athletes. It was a long meet and quite cool by the end of the night, but we generally did well in preparing for each event and maintaining focus.”

Highlights of the meet, according to Coach Meyer:
