Science Fair students display projects

New Prague Area Schools held the annual District Elementary Science Fair Saturday, March 2, at New Prague Middle School.

There were 69 projects from students in grades 3-6. In addition, participants could partake in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities while not being judged. H2O For Life taught the students about the world water crisis and had a hands-on activity to demonstrate how contaminated water can be filtered, Robb Morris brought a variety of rocks, minerals and fossils for students to learn about and Camp Invention was on hand with giveaways and activities.

Members of the New Prague High School National Honor Society acted as judges. Others who contributed to the success of the event included the John Weis Family, community members, administration, custodians and teachers Rich Wilson, Jodie Prchal and Stephanie Ringsred.
