Praha Village residents raise over $1,600 for Alzheimer’s
Residents of Praha Village, New Prague’s senior apartment complex, held a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, bringing in $1,623.75. The residents held a Bake & Craft Sale on December 13 that was open to the residents and their families. It was the first year that the residents held the fundraiser.
“It was just great. We were surprised with how everything went,” said Dorothy Orr, one of the residents who was involved in the fundraiser. She was involved through the whole process of baking goods and sewing crafts. She said the day came for the fundraiser and they filled the room with all the articles they made.
The staff at Praha Village said they were also shocked with the amount. They and the residents had been hoping to raise $500 for their first time.
