Lillian “Molly” Tupy, 84

Lillian “Molly” Tupy, 84, of Northfield, MN, died Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Three Links Care Center, Northfield.

Lillian Mary Schoenbauer was born on October 25, 1935 to Joseph and Ludmilla (Kes) Schoenbauer on the family farm in New Prague. She was raised there and attended St. Wenceslaus through the eighth grade. She continued to help on the farm for a few years before meeting Ben Vosejpka at a cousin’s wedding. They were married on September 22, 1953.

After marrying Ben, they moved to the Vosejpka family farm by Lonsdale. Lillian worked with her husband on the farm and they had five children while living there. They had a big garden which Lillian enjoyed tending. Her husband Ben died in 1979. Their children were out of school at the time and Lillian stayed on the farm.

Lillian married Bernard Tupy in 1982. They moved to Northfield and lived there for many years. Lillian worked a few different jobs while in Northfield and they eventually retired. They went south to Texas during their winters and enjoyed traveling in their motor home.

Lillian had many pastimes and enjoyed playing cards. She and Bernard were King and Queen of the P.O.L.K. of A. They loved dancing and danced together for almost all their years together. Lillian enjoyed secretarial work and was the secretary of countless organizations over the years. She loved to bake (especially kolacky), quilt, and crochet.

Lillian was known for her gentle and calm personality. She loved her family and helped her children numerous times with her grandkids. She will be dearly missed.

Lillian is survived by her children, Steven (Tamara) Vosejpka of Webster, Gary (Maureen) Vosejpka of Dundas, Lloyd (Debbie) Vosejpka of Lonsdale, and Arnie (Carol) Vosejpka of Lonsdale; daughter-in-law, Brenda (Roger) Schommer of New Prague; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Angie (Harold) Shimota of New Prague, Chuck (Katie) Schoenbauer of Jordan, and Mark Schoenbauer of Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Schoenbauer (Ed) of New Prague, Helen Schoenbauer (Richard) of New Prague; brothers-in-law, Joe “Jim” Cesafsky (Mabel) of Montgomery, Leo Hinderscheit (Joyce) of Florida, Milton Vosejpka (Beverly) of Faribault, and Robert (Diane) Vosejpka of Owatonna.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husbands, Ben Vosejpka (1979) and Bernard Tupy (2016); son, Loren Vosejpka; and grandson, Nicholas Vosejpka.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the Church of St. Dominic, 104 North Linden Street, Northfield. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Monday, February 17, 2020 at Benson & Langehough Funeral Home, 201 East Fourth Street, Northfield, and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lonsdale.
