Isaacson earns collegiate baseball honors

Augie Isaacson recently completed his collegiate baseball season with a host of honors.

Isaacson, a New Prague High School graduate, was named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Player of the Year. He was a junior for playing for Friends University in Wichita, KS.

Isaacson led the Falcons in hitting (.428), runs (57), hits (92), triples (eight), home runs (seven), RBIs (52), slugging percentage (.665). onbase percentage (.494) and stolen bases (35). He led the KCAC in batting average, hits, stolen bases and was tied for the lead in triples. He led the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in hits per game and was in the top 10 in three other categories.

Isaacson was named a first team NAIA All-American and also was named to the Google Cloud Academic All- America College Division team. He received the CoSIDA Academic All-America of the year award. He had a 4.0 grade point average, majoring in criminal justice.

A redshirt junior, Isaacson is currently playing for the Duluth Huskies in the Northwood Amateur Wood Bat League. In 26 games, he is batting .400 and leads the team in runs, hits, RBIs and stolen bases.

He is the son of Rick and Diane Isaacson of New Prague.
