International travel writers living in New Prague

Ten years ago Betsy and Peter Wuebker wanted to add more travels to their business trips. Now traveling is their business as they are international travel writers and speakers. They detailed their trips to nearly 50 countries on their blog PassingThru.com. Around the end of February they landed in New Prague to stay with their daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Scott Glisczinski.

Betsy explained while in Colombia she had a medical emergency and they are staying in New Prague as she recovers. While living in the community they decided to add New Prague to their list of numerous destinations throughout the world that they have written about. Those sites have included Australia, Southeast Asia, China, Fiji, the Czech Republic and now New Prague. Their blog focuses on history, culture and places to eat at and visit. They noted the post about New Prague follows that approach, making the community an excellent choice for a day trip from the Twin Cities.

“We have a rather significant local Twin Cities readership,” said Betsy. She and Peter grew up in Minnesota. She said there’s been a positive reaction to the piece about New Prague. She added, “Our kids liked it and shared it.”

Betsy was familiar with the community before they arrived. In the1980s she and her family would come to what was then Schumacher’s Hotel, now the Hotel Broz. In their research of New Prague they found that many.....
