The New Prague Times The Elko New Market Chamber of Commerce held its annual dinner and meeting at the Firehouse Grille. There was a little twist this year. Besides holding elections and listing what were some highlights of the year, a murder mystery was included during the Monday, Nov. 18, festivities.

Three members of The Murder Mystery Co. ran the program attended by 50 people. Those attending were put into teams. They had to figure out which of the suspects was the true culprit of a double murder. As part of the murder mystery Chamber members Kate Timmerman, Melissa Kreuser, Tim Sadusky, Josh Storlie, Todd Anderson, Tricia Timmons and Mario Frasson were the “suspects.” They, and others attending, took part by dressing in clothing that evoked a type of 1920-30s atmosphere.

At the end of the evening the team, Karen’s Klan, which this reporter was part of, deduced through the clues that Timmerman was the “guilty party.”

“The Elko New Market Chamber dinner was a night to remember! The energy level was high, all the ‘suspects’ got into their role, the dinner (by Firehouse) was delicious, and everyone worked awesome together in solving the murders,” said Rebecca Devine, Executive Administrative Assistant of the Chamber. “In addition to the Murder Mystery, it was also wonderful hearing from Jodi and Jim Muelken regarding Hope for the Community and the impactful work they are doing. It was a good reminder for all of us that there are families in our very own community that are in need of food. All around, it was just a fabulous evening and I cannot wait until next year!”
