Emily K. Ardolf, 104

Emily K. Ardolf, age 104, of New Prague, died peacefully on Wednesday February 6, 2019 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague.  Emily was born on September 8, 1914 in Wheatland Township, Rice County to Math and Mary (Novak) Ruzicka.  After Veseli school she attended Hopkins High School before she married Joseph F. Ardolf at Veseli on September 8, 1936.  Emily was a farm housewife and homemaker and raised five children.  She was one of the oldest living residents in New Prague.

Emily was a very kind and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She loved to garden and she spent hours working the earth, and nothing pleased her more than sharing the bounty from her green thumb, making pickles and sauerkraut, then giving them away to her family, because she knew they enjoyed them so much. She always had time to help her kids with the projects they took on, and she loved to have a house full of family for special meals. She dearly loved her children and felt blessed with the many grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren. Emily was a gentle soul and she will be missed by all of us.

Emily is survived by her children Bernard (Mary) of Faribault, Joyce Koktavy of Faribault, Myron (Terry) of Fairmont, Jeanne (Mark) German of Chisago City, and John (Annette) of Apple Valley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Ardolf (on May 27, 1997), her brother Frank Ruzicka, and three sisters Bessie Chlian, Mary Kubes, and Helen Vasko.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague with Deacon Bob Wagner officiating.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 1 – 2:30 PM.  Burial will occur after the service at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in New Prague, followed by lunch at the New Prague Legion Clubroom.  bruzekfuneralhome.com
