Elko New Market approves community survey

The Elko New Market City Council unanimously approved at its Thursday, April 12, meeting retaining the Morris Leatherman Company to conduct a community survey.

The survey will consist of 65 questions with a sample size of 250 respondents. The city solicited price quotes with the Morris Leatherman Company having the lowest at $8,500. Other quotes were received from Springsted, Inc., at $16,500 and ICMA/National Research Center at $20,260. Any additional questions will be billed at a rate of $150 per question. Helping to reduce the cost of the survey is the participation of the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, which pays $1,380 towards the cost for including transit-related questions.

This is the third community survey, the first being done in 2012 and the second done in 2015. A plus with this survey is that the firm will be able to develop longitudinal trends in city-provided public services.
