Edward J. Hruby, 97

Edward J. Hruby, age 97 of Lonsdale, MN passed into eternal life on June 26, 2018. Edward was born to Frank and Ann (Kuzelka) Hruby on February 27, 1921. 

Edward attended Catholic Schools in Lonsdale and New Prague. He met his lifetime sweetheart Adeline Sevcik. They married on May 4, 1942 in Lonsdale, before Ed had to leave for the service.

Ed proudly service his Country in the United States Army where he was disabled, and later was active in the Veteran’s Disability Programs. Edward fell very sick with Rheumatoid Arthritis while over seas and was honorably discharged to a Texas Hospital for nine months.

Ed enjoyed pastime with woodwork, painting, fishing and playing music on Tuba, Trombone, and Accordion. He played music with several bands, and sang very well also.

Edward was a devoted husband to his wife and children along with volunteering to play at nursing homes, senior care, dances and others.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Adeline; parents; son, Edward Jr.; siblings; Helen (Elmer) Sladek, Elsie (Emil) Novak, Frank (Lillian) Hruby, Evelyn (Jim) Sevcik and George (Ann) Hruby. Ed is survived by his daughters, Patricia Hruby, and Deborah (Gene) Jeurissen; grandchildren, Annette, Stacy, and Aaron Hruby, and Julie (Mark Zunker) Hruby; great grandchildren, Zoe, and Jack Linstrom; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale, with visitation from 4-7 PM Sunday (7/1) at the White Funeral Home, Lonsdale (507-744- 2368); also 1 hr. prior to Mass at the funeral home. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Lonsdale. Edward was a wonderful devoted husband and father. He loved Jesus very much and is now with Him. Military Honors was preformed by the Lonsdale American Legion.
