St. Patrick is DRS 2nd place team

New Market continues their dominance, sitting undefeated at 16-0 in DRS League play, holding a commanding 6 game lead on St. Patrick, the 2nd place team. St. Patrick holds a 0.5 game lead on the surging Montgomery Mallards, who are winners of 4-straight, and have settled into 3rd place in the Standings. Prior Lake holds down the 4th spot to round out the top 4, which would all be in line for a bye from League Playoffs.

Monday, June 10 Elko 19, at Lonsdale 0 In a make-up game at Lonsdale, Elko pounded out 17 hits on their way to a 19-0 win. Elko pitching combined for a no-hitter. No other details were available. Wednesday, June 12 Union Hill 2, at Montgomery 12 Union Hill traveled to Montgomery where Robbie Marshall went 8 innings allowing 1 earned run for the win. Luke Zweber started and pick us the loss for the Bulldogs. Union Opened the game with 2 runs in the top of 1st and the Mallards scored 4 in the bottom of the 1st. The Mallards scored 8 runs in the 7th and 8th. Tom Flicek had 3 hits including a double, and Eric Iverson had 3 hits and 4 RBI.

Webster 2, at Faribault 1 John Barten picked up the win for the Sox, allowing only 3 Faribault hits in 8 innings pitched. Jack Meyer picked up the save. Gage Bergmann knocked in both runs for the Sox and had 2 hits; Eric Thorberg also had 2 hits for the Sox. Porter Sartor threw all 9 innings for the Lakers, giving up 8 hits and had 8 strikeouts. Joey Grote, Dylan O’Neil, and Charlie Lechtenberg had the Laker hits.

St. Patrick 2, at Prior Lake 12 (8 innings) Justin Hackett tossed 4 innings giving up only 3 hits and got the win as the Mudcats defeated the Irish 12-2 in 8 innings. Jonny Houston and Jake Lehrer each had 3 hits and scored 3 runs. Lehrer and Lucas Pumper had 3 RBI. Luke Weber had 2 doubles. Josh Simon took the loss for the Irish, but held Prior Lake scoreless through 5 innings. The Irish knocked out 12 hits, but could only muster 2 runs. Jack Friedges was 4-5 with an RBI.

New Market 8, at Shakopee 0 New Market scored in each of the first four innings. The key hit was a two-RBI single from Brett Herber in the second, following a Justin Firpo triple and Joe McKibben walk.Chris Isensee started for Shakopee, striking out eleven and walking only two, but the Muskies benefited from timely hitting and a few Shakopee miscues in the field. Multiple hits from Ben Hines, Scott Lyden, Firpo, and Kyle Bergstrom, who notched his first HR of the year. Logan Becker was the sole Coyote with multiple hits. Herber started for the Muskies on the mound and went the distance, picking up 9 strikeouts, 0 walks, and giving up 5 hits.

Elko 5, at New Prague 0 Elko had 6 hits as they defeated New Prague 5-0. Nick Dorfman picked up the win and Grant Gunderson the save. TJ Evanson hit a long HR to center to break open a tight game late. New Prague had 9 hits on the night.

St. Benedict 21, at Veseli 10 The St Benedict Saints defeated the Veseli Warriors 21- 10 in Veseli. St. Benedict was led offensively by Ryan Gale who had five hits. Zach Bakko hit a two-run homerun. Veseli was led by Matt Perkinson who homered and drove in five runs. Both teams made 5 errors. Both teams walked and hit numerous batters. Cole Minnick earned the win. Matthias Duevel pitches the final three innings of shutout baseball for the save.

Friday, June 14 Prior Lake 5, at Faribault 9 No info made available

New Market 8, at New Prague 0 Riley Ahern pitched 5 innings and got the win as the Muskies knocked off New Prague 8-0. Derek Bergstrom picked up the 4 inning save. Max Fierst pitched for New Prague and had the loss. Scoreless after 2, but the Muskies plated all 8 runs in the top of the 3rd. Joe McKibben had 2 hits in the inning, with 2 RBI. Danny Phyle added a 2-run single. The Orioles had 5 hits on the night.

Shakopee 14, at Union Hill 6 Jesse Nystrom tossed a complete game and got the win for the Coyotes as they defeated Union Hill 14-6 at Union Hill’s Don Giesen Field. Shakopee had 14 hits, with Logan Becker hitting 2 home runs, and tallying 5 RBI. Tanner Graff and Mason Bode added HRs of their own. Ben Fredenburg and Caleb Friedrich each had 3 hits. Daniel Feneis took the loss for Union Hill. Zach Dubanoski had 3 hits for the Bulldogs.

Lonsdale 3, at Montgomery 11 No info was made available for this game.

Sunday, June 16 Veseli 9, at Shakopee 13 Andy Lazzari picked up the win as the Coyotes knocked off the Warriors 13- 9. Jesse Nystrom with the save. Shakopee belted 19 hits, with Logan Becker going 4-5 with a double and 3 RBI. Alex Pauly smashed 3 hits and scored 3 runs. Lance Buchtel was 3-3 with 2 RBI, and Tanner Graff had 2 hits with 3 RBI. Veseli plated 6 runs in the 8th to cut the lead to 2, but Shakopee added 2 more in the bottom of the 8th. Matt Perkinson took the loss for Veseli. Michael Nezerka was 3-3 with 2 runs and Mason Mayer was 3-3.

Montgomery 6, at New Prague 1 Johnny Krocak started his first game since 2017 and went 9 innings with 1 earned run for the win. Nathan Sprouls started for New Prague and had the loss. The Mallards scored 4 runs in the top of the 3rd thanks to a 2 run HR from Ryan Iverson. Pat Lloyd had 2 hits including a double, and Eric Iverson had 2 hits.

Prior Lake 7, at Webster 6 Prior Lake scored 2 runs in the 9th inning to tie, and scored one in the 11th inning to upend Webster 7-6. Ben Morrison pitched 2 innings for the win, picking up 3 strikeouts. Cole Bjorge had 2 RBI, Luke Weber, Jake Lehrer, and Morrison each had 2 hits. Jack Meyer took the loss for Webster, striking out 4 in his 6 innings of work. William Chalmers had 3 hits and started the game on the mound, throwing 5 innings with 3 strikeouts. Chalmers, Marcus Pleiss, and Jared Opsahl each had 2 RBI.

St. Patrick 3, at New Market 14 (8 innings) Justin Firpo got the win for the Muskies in this battle between the number one and number two team in the standings. Firpo didn;t give up a hit until the 6th inning, with St. Patrick only mustering 2 hits on the day. Tyler Bergstrom had a 2-run HR. Nate Rost had a 2-run single. Brett Herber ended this one in the 8th, with a Grand Slam. Tyler Bergstrom had 3 RBI and Herber 5 RBI. Kyle Rhodus and Jace Westman had St. Patrick’s hits.

Union Hill 0, at Elko 10 (8 innings) Elko gets its 4th shutout in 5 games as rookie Brady Bean pitched 6 strong innings for the win. TJ Evanson had another HR (4 in 3 games) and picked up 2 doubles, both plating a runner. First year player Carson Blassing added his first HR in an Express uniform.
