Prior Lake holds DRS lead, St. Patrick close behind

With less than 10 days to play, Prior Lake is in front of the DRS Amateur Baseball League standings as of July 19.

Prior Lake is currently 6-2 after winning two of three games last week. St. Patrick has only played three league games and have yet to lose. Union Hill sits in third place with a 3-1 record.

Wednesday, July 15

St. Benedict 20, Lonsdale 5, 7 innings St. Benedict scored 10 runs in the third inning and five in the fourth inning in this seven inning contest. Zach Bukko had three hits, Jeremy Heitkamp scored four runs, and Carton Johnson, Ryan Gale, and Andrew Huss added two hits each for St. Bens. Ross Beumer led the Aces offense with a triple and a home run. Ryan Roby and Thomas Hoppert each added two hits.

Union Hill 6, Faribault 1 The Bulldogs Joe Becker tossed a two hitter, striking out 12 and walking just one. Nate Lee, Jack Becker and Conrad Masberg had run scoring hits. Jake Stocker knocked in the lone run for the Lakers.

Prior Lake 3, New Prague 2 Ben Morrison pitched eight innings for Prior Lake, allowing two runs on five hits. Nathan Sprouls pitched six innings and allowed three hits and TJ Bergland pitched the final three innings, also allowing three hits. Jake Deutsch knocked in both Orioles runs and Jacob Mader had two hits.

Friday, July 17

Faribault 8, Prior Lake 4 The Lakers handed Prior Lake only its second loss of the league season. Tyler Francis pitched the first seven innings for Faribault. Joey Grote led the team with three hits and two RBIs. Cole Bjorge had three hits and Corbin Cross added two for Prior Lake.

Saturday, July 18

New Prague 12, Veseli 0 The Orioles defeated Veseli behind a strong pitching performance from Luke Tupy. He struck out 11 over five innings and gave up just one hit. TJ Bergland pitched the final two innings and struck out three. Collin Dorzinski, James Furniss, Zach Sirek, Jacod Deutsch, and Anthony Mader all drove in runs for New Prague. Beau Branter had two hits, including a double and Cody Shimota had a hit for Veseli.

St. Patrick 8, Webster 4 Jack Friedges and Kyle Rhodus each hit home runs for the Irish. Friedges was 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored. He hit two home runs. Rhodus was 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored and a double to go along with his home run. Jake Eckness and Max Drexel each had two hits for the Sox. Iciness also knocked in two runs and scored a run.

Sunday, July 19

Union Hill 13, Shakopee 0, 7 innings Derek Masberg and Jay Skogerboe combined for 11 strikeouts and allowed only five hits. Masberg pitched the first five innings. Will Busch and Zach Dubanowcki each hit home runs for the Bulldogs. Busch, Nate Lee, Conrad Masberg, and Sam Novak had multi hit games. Chris Isensee and Andy Larsari allowed 15 hits and struck out seven for Shakopee.

Faribault 10, Webster 7 Mike Carpenter had five of the 18 hits for Faribault. Adam Schmitz, Mike Drexl, and Dave Picha each had two hits for Webster. Lonsdale 5, New Prague 3 Aces pitcher Isaac Pint battled through 6+ innings leading Lonsdale to the win over the Orioles. Marty Kalina, Ross Beumer, Zach Breedan, and Jack Skluzacek each had two hits for the Ces. James Fuerniss had three hits for the Orioles. Bryce Novak allowed seven hits and three earned runs in six innings for New Prague.

Prior Lake 4, St. Benedict 0 Luke Weber pitched a four-hitter for Prior Lake. Corbin Cross was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Alex Watterman was 3-for-4. Carter Johnson hit a double for St. Bens.
