Minnesota Czech Country’s 100-year celebration is Saturday and Sunday
To honor the creation of Czechoslovakia 100 years ago, the “Bohemian Triangle” of New Prague, Montgomery, Lonsdale and Veseli are putting together a celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 27 and 28.
Starting Saturday morning, Oct. 27, 12 area cemeteries will have Czech immigrant graves marked with Czech flags to honor Czech ancestors. Assistance will be available at the cemeteries in locating specific grave sites from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, general information on cemetery locations will be available at the Arts & Heritage Center (206 First Street N.) in Montgomery.
In addition to the cemetery activities, the Arts & Heritage Center will host a Children’s Culture Camp featuring Czech language, cooking, and singing provided by the Miss Czech Slovak MN Pageant.
