Home runs for a family in need

Eric Steinhoff may have hit 31 homers to win the Home Run Derby, but little Analise Tveitbakk ruled the ballpark on Saturday.

The two-year-old happily ran the bases, took pictures with the batters, and picked out sweets at the concession stand during Home Town Bats' Home Run Derby at the Union Hill Ballpark on June 27. The fourth annual fundraising event benefited Analise and her family.

The spunky sweet girl is the daughter of Ana Winchester and Jared Tveitbakk of Lakeville. Analise has been diagnosed with Moyamoya disease, a rare blood vessel disorder in which the carotid artery in the skull becomes blocked or narrowed, reducing blood flow to your brain, and Morning Glory Syndrome, a congenital optic disc anomaly that limits her vision to only three feet.

"She has a long road ahead of her and we are looking to help her any way we can," stated event organizer Ted Nytes of Home Town Bats.
