Father Theisen named pastor for St. Wenceslaus

Fr. Eugene Theisen

St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church recently announced that Fr. Eugene Theisen has been named pastor of the New Prague church, effective Wednesday, July 1. Fr. Theisen’s Installment Mass will be held at 5 p.m. on July 1, at St. Wenceslaus Church, 215 Main St. E. The Mass will be live streamed on multiple platforms through the church’s website, its Facebook page and YouTube.

Before serving at St. Wenceslaus Church, he served in the military. Fr. Theisen retired from 30 years military service in the U.S. Air Force in April 2018. He spent six months on sabbatical and then began his assignment to St. Wenceslaus on October 1, 2018, as Parochial Vicar. After the retirement of Fr. Kevin Clinton on June 2 in 2019 as pastor, Fr. Theisen assumed duties as Parochial Administrator on July 1.
