New Prague is on the road for its final two games of the season, at Dakota United in Rosemount Tuesday, May 14, and facing Chaska/Chanahsssen/Prior Lake/Shakopee at Prior Lake Thursday, May 16.

Trojans 11, Jets 7 New Prague had an exciting win against South Suburban. It ended up being a battle until the end. New Prague remained in the lead the whole time but it wasn't truly over until the seventh inning. New Prague took an early 2- 1 lead, but South Suburban tied the game at 4-4 in the third. The Trojans had four runs in the fourth, but South Suburban pulled to within a run in the fifth. New Prague added three more runs in the final innings to make the final 11-7.

“Our hitting has been a struggle in the last couple of games, but tonight we were able to make some progress,” Coach Shellie Kriha said.

“We had multiple players with huge hits throughout the game. Leo Fahey was 4-for-5 with three RBIs. Blake Perry and Shane Friedrich were 3- for-5 and Seth Dorner was 2- for-4 with three RBIs.”

Blazing Cats 9, Trojans 6 New Prague continued on a positive swing while facing a tough opponent in the Blazing Cats of Burnsville/Farmington/ Lakeville.

New Prague came out strong defensively, not giving up any runs in the first four innings. The Trojans led 5-0 at the end of the third inning. Big hits by Leo Fahey and Seth Dorner helped build the lead.

However the Blazing Cats battled back, tying the game in the fifth and scoring two runs each in the sixth and seventh. New Prague tried to rally, but managed a single run in the seventh.

Dorner and Blake Perry finished off going 3-for-4 at the plate. Garrett Gagner, Fahey and Evan Minar were each 2-for-4.

“Despite the losing score, we were extremely proud of the team. We played as a team, our defense was the best it has been all year and everyone worked hard until the very last out,” Kriha said. “The team is finally coming together the way we were hoping. We hope to continue on this upward trend as we finish the next few weeks of play.”
