Titans drive over Saint Peter 18-8

The Tri-City United Titans capitalized on drives and their scoring performance when they cruised to an 18-8 victory over Saint Peter on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

TCU set the tone that they were out to win on the opening drive of the game. The offense barreled 62 yards, converted three first-downs, and put up a score by starting running back Mason O’Malley.

The team repeated the successful strategy on their second drive, grinding out first downs on the ground and in the air to put the team ahead 12 to 0. The team recorded 17 first downs in the game to Saint Peter’s 9 and was 6-10 in third down efficiency.

“It was a nice team win. We did a nice job controlling the clock and our ground game was working efficiently,” said Coach Matt Collins.

Defensively, O’Malley had six tackles. Adam Henze and Matt Rabenberg had interceptions for the Titan defense. Rabenberg’s came in the third quarter at the goal line when Saint Peter was looking to close the Titan lead. Henze and Rabenberg’s picks allowed 41 passing yards and 86 rushing yards and forced two turnovers in the win.

Saint Peter’s lone touchdown came right before the end of the game on an 11-yard pass completion and a two-point conversion.
