TCU to continue with football game
The TCU School District is continuing tonight’s home football game in the wake of high school teacher Carol Lilla’s death at the start of school Friday.
The Titans are scheduled to play Fairmont at 7 p.m.
In a email to parents and guardians, Superintendent Teri Preisler, said Lilla loved being a teacher, loved supporting the students, and loved all things connected with activities and opportunities for students.
“After a great deal of conversation with staff members closest to her, all feel that in order to best honor her passion for TCU activities, we will go ahead with tonight's TCU Titan football game. At tonight's game, we will honor her with a moment of silence and staff tribute,” Preisler wrote.
As another means of honoring her and all she has contributed to the students, schools, and communities, the district will not be charging a ticket fee this evening.
Instead they are offering the opportunity to give a donation as a memorial Tackle Cancer. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink or blue.
