Pink Support Titans raise money, support for breast cancer patient
The Tri-City United student section proudly sported pink for the Titan volleyball team’s Dig Pink Night.

Titan volleyball fans and players traded their school colors of Columbia blue, silver and black for pink on Tuesday, Oct. 5, marking the school’s annual Dig Pink Night.
The event is an annual fundraiser organized by the TCU Volleyball Booster Club that fills the high school gymnasium in support of a cancer survivor. According to Washa Kes, of the Volleyball Booster Club, $3,000 was raised for breast cancer survivor Lucinda (Tulloch) Rose of Montgomery.
“The night was a huge success. It was amazing to see all the fans there to support TCU Volleyball and Lucinda,” Kes said.
Donations came from sale of silent auction items, volleyball players getting chair sponsors, the sale of t-shirts and cookies, and a quilt raffle. Kes said Rose was chosen again because she is involved in the community, and they wanted to support her.
“She was our recipient last year, but due to COVID-19, we weren’t able to raise as much for her as years past,” Kes stated.
