Mary Emily Steinhouse, 85

Mary Emily Steinhouse, age 85 of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at her home. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery from 9:30 a.m – 11:30 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jason Pollington officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.

Mary was born on July 4, 1933 in Washington, Louisiana to Matthew and Bena Prather. After graduating from high school she moved to San Antonio, Texas where she met and married her husband, Roger Steinhouse on September 4, 1965 and had her children. They moved to Bloomington, where she worked for United Steel Products as an office manager. Mary and her family moved to Montgomery because her company relocated there in 1973. Mary enjoyed camping, going on fall trips, cooking, playing cards with her friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Mary is survived by her husband, Roger Steinhouse of Montgomery; children, Lisa Thompson of Montgomery, Creagg (Peggy) Steinhouse of Lonsdale, and Angela (Dale) Hale of Farmington; grandchildren, Neil, Becky, Emily, Carrie and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Maria, Tyler, and Max; siblings, Aline Richey of Mt. Vernon, OH., Matthew “M.P” Prather of San Antonio, TX., Madeline Coto of Barnwell South Carolina, and Janie Tujaque of Opelousas, Louisiana.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Norma, and Shelton.
