Hockey team opens season against North Branch

The Minnesota River Bulldog Hockey Team opened its season with a win and loss against North Branch and Dodge County.
The team opened its season on Friday, Nov. 23 against North Branch. The team lost 5-1.
Coach Shea Roehrkasse said he thought the team played well overall on the weekend, but just couldn’t get anything going offensively in their season opener.
“Against North Branch, we made a few too many mistakes in the neutral and defensive zone. North Branch did a good job of taking advantage of that,” he said.
The Bulldogs’ lone score came in the third period by Charlie Weick on a power play.
Andrew Regner served as goalie for the team’s 51 minutes of play.
In their match against Dodge County, which they won 10-0, the Bulldogs’ goal was to really focus on defensive zone hockey.
