Tri-City United Schools debuted one of its new sports last Tuesday when the girls’ soccer team took on Cannon Falls at the high school athletic complex.

The Titans took to the field under cloudy skies, with a cool temperature and rain in the second-half of the contest.

The inexperienced team didn’t net any goals during the game, that saw Cannon Falls finish with a 10-0 score. However, the Titans’ coach, Carey Langer, said the team did what they learned in practices.

“I saw the girls using and performing all the skills we have worked on in practices. So, we were successful at the skills based things, but we have work to do tactically,” he said. “We are a very young and inexperienced team. In fact, we only had three girls on the field who had ever played in a soccer game before, so we knew we would learn a lot.”
