Virginia M. (Ginny) Lindquist, 92

Virginia M. (Ginny) Lindquist, age 92 of Waterville, formerly of Blooming Prairie, passed away peacefully Monday, October 5, 2020 at her lake home in Waterville. Virginia Mae Motle was born June 1, 1928 to William J. and Viola Mae (Gummow) Motle in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. She grew up in Blooming Prairie and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1946. On March 30, 1947, Ginny married Edward LeRoy Lindquist at the Methodist Church in Blooming Prairie during a Palm Sunday Blizzard and were happily married for 68 years.

Their marriage was blessed with four children, Marsha (Penny), Sandy Kae, Larry and Lee. Ginny began her career working as a local telephone operator until the town went to dial phone. In 1964, she went back to college and graduated with a two-year Business Degree from Riverland Community College in Owatonna. In 1966, she began her 35-year career at Josten's in Owatonna starting as an Editor and then working her way up to a Senior Editor retiring in 2001. Ginny was a member of the Methodist Church in Blooming Prairie and attended the Methodist Church in Waterville. She was a 50-year member of the Oak Glen Chapter #177 Order of the Eastern Star and a 75-year member of the VFW Auxiliary of Blooming Prairie. She loved anything to do with crafts and liked to make handwoven baskets that she proudly liked to display and share with family. Ginny was an avid Christmas Cookie Baker and enjoyed baking all sorts of treats and sharing them with family and friends. Her passion was Bridge, everything stopped for her Bridge games. She belonged to several Bridge Clubs both in Blooming Prairie and Waterville, she enjoyed her time with her Bridge playing friends. Ginny was affectionately known as "Grandma", "Grandma at the Lake", and "Granny" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Kae (Tim) Bass of Blooming Prairie, MN; sons, Larry (Annette) Lindquist of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Lee (Sandi) of Austin, MN; grandchildren, Tammy (Mark) Mathias of Kasson, MN, Heidi (Brett) Zimmerman of Cannon Falls, MN, Heather (Tony) Schiller of Blooming Prairie, MN, Tara Lindquist of Rose Creek, MN, Oscar (Amanda Street) Lindquist of Brooklyn, New York, Nicholas Bass of Blooming Prairie, MN, Billy Lindquist of Blooming Prairie, MN, Tyler Bass of Golden Valley, MN, Carl (Amanda Hodges) Lindquist of Adams, MN; great grandchildren, Samantha (Kyle Wakefield) Mathias, Hayden Lindquist, Jeffry Zimmerman, Olivia Mathias, Hunter Nelsen, Ella Mathias, Kendahl Zimmerman, Brayden Lindquist, Sophia Schiller, Kylie Lindquist, Isabella Schiller, Brooks Zimmerman, Elliot Schiller, Lila Schiller, and Adalynn Lindquist; godsons, Tim Augustin of Malmo, Sweden and John Brainerd of Fairbanks, Alaska; sisters, Barbara Garber of Carson City, NV and Linda Augustin of Washington Court House, OH; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Viola Motle; husband, Edward Lindquist; daughter, Marsha Pacolt; son-in-law, Stan Pacolt; brother, Clifford Motle; and sister, Esther Guillemen.

A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Blooming Prairie City Cemetery, Blooming Prairie, MN, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Heidi Heimgartner of First Lutheran Church Blooming Prairie officiating. There will be a celebration of her life after the COVID restrictions are lifted. Worlein Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie is assisting the with arrangements.
