For the first time in nearly a month, the WEM/JWP cross country teams were a full squad. Due to distance learning at JWP, WEM runners had been competing by themselves.

The full team competed Monday, Sept. 28 at Prairie Ridge Golf Course against NRHEG and RACE, a private school in Rochester.

The boys’ team also placed second to RACE, by a 55-17 score. NRHEG was third with 58 points.

Josh Bengtson led the Grizzlies with a seventh place finish (20:31). Gavin Krause placed ninth (20:55) and Cody Culhane placed 10th (21:06).

Michael Adams won the junior varsity race (20:30) and Mya Geyer was the top finisher for the girls, placing sixth (28:17) in the JV race.

Caleb Quast was the top junior high finisher, placing third (10:02). Madeline Heuss placed eighth (13:05) to the Grizzly girls in the junior high race.
