The 56th Annual Waterville Bullhead Days celebration may look a little bit different this year, but many of the yearly favorites are returning after a year off due to COVID in 2020.

One of the biggest differences will be the absence of a carnival. The Bullhead Days Committee felt they would wait until next year before having the carnival return to the Main Street area.

Returning will be the Miss Waterville Pageant, the Bullhead Stand, Grand Street Parade, the Kids Fishing Contest, and the fireworks display.

“Everything is falling into place,” Bullhead Days Chairman Del Point said. “People have really stepped up to the plate. Everything is really going great. The Waterville Lions Club, the local businesses, and local community members have been very generous with donations.”

This year’s event will start Friday, June 11 with a new event, a Classic Car Roll-In. This roll-in will take place on Main Street and adjacent streets if needed. It will be much like the monthly Hot Summer Night roll-ins which have been a part of the summer months in Waterville for the last couple of years.

The 64th Miss Waterville and Junior Miss Pageant will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at the WEM High School.

There will be live music by Tully and Allen from 4 - 7 p.m. at the entertainment stand on S. 3rd Street and Power House will be playing at the Community Patio on Main Street from 7 to 11 p.m. If weather is an issue, Power House will be moved to behind Jigger’s Bar (formerly Denny’s Bar).

According to Bullhead Days Chairman Del Point, this year’s fireworks display will be the best ever, with $6,000 being dedicated to the 10 p.m. show. The fireworks will be shot off from Sakatah.

Saturday, June 12 will include a Waterville Fire Dept. Bass Fishing Tournament. The event will feature 50 teams of two and has already sold out. The weigh-in for this event will be held at 2 p.m. at the swimming beach.

Nearly two dozen hand-made vendors will be setting up on Main Street from 10...
