Zaiya Jean Sobotta, infant
Zaiya Jean Sobotta, precious baby daughter of Jarret Sobotta and Amanda Geyer, was born on January 12th, 2018, at 9:25 pm at the First Touch Birthing Center in Northfield. She weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long. Zaiya was a perfect baby in the eyes of all of her loved ones, and from what anyone could tell, she was perfectly healthy. She loved to smile and could cheer up anyone around her. During Zaiya’s 11 brief days on earth, she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends.
On January 23rd, 2018, Zaiya unexpectedly passed away. The cause is still unknown.
She is preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents - Benjamin Sellner, Wallace Sr. and Agnes Geyer.
Zaiya is survived by her parents - Jarret Sobotta and Amanda Geyer; brother – Ezekiel Soriano-Geyer; Godparents – Jaxson Sobotta and Noelle Geyer; aunts – Jami Sobotta, Shayelynn Dvorak, Nicole Geyer, Amber Geyer, and Hollyann Geyer; uncles – Matt Quinnell, Rashid Rodriguez, and Austin Hoops; paternal grandparents – Randy and Dawn Sobotta; maternal grandparents – Adam and Tammy Geyer; paternal great-grandparents - Evarist "Bud" and Patricia Sobotta; maternal great-grandma - Yvonne Tesch.
Visitation for Zaiya will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Prague from 1-4 PM. The funeral service will take place at 4:00 PM, followed by lunch in the church fellowship hall.
