Torp places 4th in pole vault
New Prague High School senior Alex Torp placed fourth in the pole vault at the State Class AA boys track and field meet Friday, June 10, at Hamline University in St. Paul. Torp, shown in a photo from earlier this year, cleared 14 feet, 6 inches on his second attempt. Winner was Calvin Ciganek of Mounds View, who cleared 15 feet. Two other Trojans competed on Friday. Mitchell Delbow placed 15th in the triple jump with a leap of 39 feet, 9.75 inches and Josie Herrmann just missed making the finals in the girls 400 meters.
