TCU Prom theme is “Secret Garden”

Tri-City United High School will celebrate its Prom on Saturday, April 29. The Grand March begins at 4 p.m. in the high school gym.

According to teacher advisor, Carolyn Harmeyer, dinner and the dance will be held at the Riverside Room of the Minneapolis Event Center near St. Anthony Main.

The theme this year is Secret Garden, which was determined by a group of junior students who volunteer and work on the prom committee.

“They decide on the theme and the decorations for the Grand March,” Harmeyer said.

She added that 207 students have signed up to attend this year.

It will cost $2 to come and watch Grand March, just like previous years.

Post Prom
The “Secret Garden” theme continues for the TCU Post Prom.

As in year’s past, the Post Prom will take place at TCU High School from 1 to 6 a.m. with many activities planned to keep students busy throughout the night. These include a gym full of inflatable games: King of the Hill, 4-player Hungry Hippo and 4-player inflatable jousting, gift card bingo, cards, corn hole competitions, Henna tattoos and much more.

According to Tina Vargo, one of the organizers, a comedic magician will highlight the night, along with many prizes and grand prizes.

Vargo thanks the large group of parent volunteers who put in many hours to fundraise and plan post prom details all year long. She also thanks especially the event’s business supporters.

“We receive amazing support from businesses in all three TCU communities and other surrounding communities. They donate prizes, food, services and money. Without their support this event would not be possible,” she said.
