Stan and Vi Chromy named Dozinky grand marshals
The New Prague Chamber of Commerce has announced that Stan and Vi Chromy have been named grand marshals for the 2017 Dozinky Parade of Farm Pride. The parade will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 16, along New Prague’s Main Street as part of the community’s annual Dozinky Festival.
Stan and Vi have long been active in the community, and are both longtime members of the Czech Heritage Club. Vi is the current president and Stan is the treasurer. They have nine children, 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Dozinky - New Prague’s Czech harvest festival, is held the third Saturday of September, and includes a street fair featuring crafts, music and food, as well as many other activities. The event draws thousands into the community and celebrates the community’s ethnic and agricultural traditions.
