Veseli Ball Club Steak Dinner & Dance is July 1 The Veseli Ball Club will be holding a Steak Dinner & Dance on Saturday, July 1, in the backyard of Brewster’s Bar & Grill, 9856 50th St. W, in Veseli. The dinner is from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. and the dance follows and lasts from 7:30-11:30 p.m. There will be cash prizes and a silent auction. The Charlie Sticha Band will be providing music. There are tickets for the dinner and the dance or just the dance. Tickets are available from ball players and ball club board members or call Chris at 507-744-2477.

Jazz orchestra to perform July 6 The Salo Park Amphitheater 39th Ave. NE and Harding St. NE, St. Anthony Village, in Minneapolis will host the jazz orchestra, Eden Prairie’s Jazz on the Prairie Big Band, from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 6. This high energy 18-piece jazz orchestra plays classic jazz big band tunes from the '30s and '40s, all the way up to popular current compositions. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the St. Anthony Community Center in Minneapolis.

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon meeting set for July 11 Beyond the Yellow Ribbon South of the River will meet from 7-8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, in the lower level of the Prior Lake VFW Club, 16306 Main Ave. This is a change from their normal meeting date. They welcome people’s ability to participate in their upcoming meeting and events. They will be back on their regular meeting schedule in August.

Families workshop in Elko New Market on July 12 NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will hold a free crisis planning workshop for parents or caregivers of children from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, at the Elko New Market Library, 110 J. Roberts Way, in Elko New Market. Learn to recognize, manage and plan for your child’s mental health crisis. Participants will also learn de-escalation techniques, and the role of county crisis teams and when to call 911. Develop a crisis plan for your child and family. Children’s Challenging Behavior Class in Eagan July 25 Some parents have the challenge of trying to understand the difference between typical age appropriate behaviors and those that may be symptoms of something more serious. NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness), presents the Children’s Challenging Behaviors class that will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 25, at Lebanon Hills Visitor Center, 860 Cliff Rd., in the Discovery Room, in Eagan. Learn about mental illnesses and their effect on behavior, when and how to seek help, parenting strategies, how to access special education or other educational programs and where to seek support.
