Historical society holds special meeting
With -22 degree wind chills outside, faithful members of the Le Sueur County Historical Society (LCHS) braved the elements and attended a petitioned, special meeting of the membership on December 30 at the Le Sueur Museum, to which the media was denied access.
With a short agenda of four items and a bare-bones board of President Jenifer Morsching, interim-board member Donna Morsching and Treasurer Evelyn Fierst (on a conference call), the board reviewed specific bylaws and adjourned.
The Society’s attorney, Jennifer Urban of Legal for Good, spoke specifically about the number and qualifications of board members and election procedures. She then offered the 17 members in attendance (including Fierst on the telephone) the solution of changing the bylaws to create a nomination committee made up of three society members and two board members.
Opinion regarding the “solution” among some of the members after the meeting is divided.
