Highway 19 closed east of New Prague
The Minnesota Department of Transportation sent this press release out on Tuesday, Aug. 1, one day after the road closure went into effect:
Hwy 19 detoured while box culvert is replaced east of New Prague
NEW PRAGUE, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 19 east of New Prague will be detoured beginning Monday, July 31 while crews replace a box culvert bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The detour is Highway 13 to Scott County Road 2 to Scott County Road 23. Crews are replacing a box culvert that spans Hwy 19. The work is scheduled to be completed by late August, weather permitting.

MnDOT urges motorists to follow these recommendations in work zones: Stay alert, watch for signs, equipment and workers, minimize distractions, such as using cell phones, eating or drinking, avoid tailgating, follow posted speed limits and directional signs, and stay in one lane while driving through a work zone.
