Girls win at TCU

The New Prague Trojans, fielding a partial varsity lineup, won the Tri-City United Girls Golf Invitational Thursday, May 11, at the Montgomery National Golf Club. The Trojans also competed in Waconia and Hutchinson last week. They were scheduled for their final Wright County Conference meet of the season Tuesday, May 16. They will compete in the Holy Family Invitational Monday, May 22, at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan. They will then have more than a week to finetune their games for the first round of the Section 2AAA meet at Ridges on Wednesday, May 31.

at Waconia Island View GC The Trojans competed at Waconia’s Island View GC Tuesday, May 9, in a Wright County Conference match. The 18-hole meet was scored as two separate 9-hole matches.

On the front nine, the Trojan’s Annika DuMoulin was tied for medallist honors with a 42, leading the Trojans to a third place total of 185.

Orono placed first with a 178, followed by Waconia (182), New Prague and Holy Family (185), Hutchinson (190) and Delano (202).

Hannah Bruder had a 47 for the Trojans, with Brooke Buthe and Taylor Hemann (48), Sydney Brod (52) and Libby Zweber (54) rounding out the scoring.

The Trojans placed second on the back nine with a team score of 175. Orono was first with 156. Hutchinson was third at 176, followed by Holy Family Catholic and Waconia (181) and Delano (197).
