DuBé named baseball coach at New Prague HS

Sean DuBé has been named Head Baseball Coach at New Prague High School for the 2017 season, pending school board approval. He succeeds Tom Wetschka, who resigned after taking an administrative position as assistant principal at the high school.
DuBé is a native of Hastings, Minnesota where he graduated from Hastings High School in 2007. He played football, hockey and baseball for the Raiders on conference, section, and state tournament teams and was a captain for both football and baseball. He studied English and education at St. Olaf College in Northfield, playing baseball for the Oles on teams that won the MIAC Tournament and played in the Midwest Regional Championship. DuBé was a captain, an academic all-MIAC player, and an all-MIAC Sportsmanship Team award winner. He graduated from St. Olaf in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
DuBé has been a varsity baseball assistant and head ninth grade football coach for the past five years. He is in his sixth year as a Language Arts teacher and a Technology Integration Coach at New Prague High School. In addition to teaching English/Language Arts, DuBé presents on various education and leadership topics within the district. During the 2015-2016 school year, he was recognized for his exceptional teaching by becoming a semifinalist for Minnesota Teacher of the Year. He received his M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2015. In his free time, DuBé enjoys running, traveling, writing, and reading.
